The Essential Skills For Grieving Well

This programme is for those of you who are ready to take a deep dive into death, dying, grief and loss; to move forward in your grieving process; to find your gifts and choose life.

Are you looking for a safe place to unpack your grief?

Perhaps you have been on a healing path for a long time, carrying a heavy burden of grief, and you are longing for a safe place to rest, unpack, take a conscious look, sift, sort and release.

Or, you are experiencing present grief following the death of a loved one, or a life threatening illness of your own; or you’re feeling the reality of aging or other losses that leave you vulnerable.

Through these very challenging times in which we live you may often feel overwhelmed and confused. You know unprocessed grief and old conditioning are preventing you from feeling fully alive and you can’t make the necessary shifts of consciousness alone. You’re longing to belong with a group and find a bigger energy to buoy you up.

You would love to experience the strength of your authentic voice and remember your unique gifts so that you can feel more fulfilled and make a creative contribution to your community.

Perhaps, now is the time for you to follow your soul…

Course Content

The programme encourages you to develop a personal practice of inquiry; to participate in the group deep discovery conversations and to adopt the practice of sitting with death and choosing life as a daily practice.

Our course content and stimulus materials include personal reflections on the grieving process; philosophical understandings of death, loss and grief from a psycho-spiritual, holistic perspective; intimate recorded conversations with diverse healers and practitioners; questions for inquiry and meditations.

There are simple practices you can use again and again to raise awareness, to know yourself better and to develop the essential skills for grieving well. Through this course I have witnessed the magic that happens when people share openly – our compassion rises and flows into the other group members and even spills out into ourselves as we resonate with aspects of their experiences. I had a strong resistance to joining the course because I didn’t feel that I had what it takes to support people in this way. But, through the feeling of truly belonging within such a beautifully held group, I have discovered a compassion that I didn’t know I had and have succeeded in being able to put a loving arm around those insecure, not-good-enough parts of myself. This, in turn has freed me to live more fully and offer myself in greater service. Holding my own group as part of my rich learning has been an amazingly enlightening experience. I am a human who feels compassion and that is enough to enable me to do this work. My soul is singing!

My journey with grief started when, at six years old, I had the sudden, shocking realisation that my parents would never be able to take care of me in the way I longed for. This began a lifetime’s quest for love and belonging which has led me on an always surprising, and deeply challenging adventure to discover who I am, why I’m here now and how I can best contribute to the wellbeing of others and the world.

In recent years I have experienced the death of my closest soul friend followed by the sudden death of my brother; I have suffered from extended periods of compromised mobility due to osteo-arthritis and of course, there has been the pandemic and the deepening crises in our world. All of this has created an opportunity for me to sit with death and choose life over several years of grief.

The Sitting with Death and Choosing Life Programme is one of the fruits of this deep experience. It is a completion and soul weaving bringing together a lifetime’s experience, wisdom and professional skills.

My life has led me to consider many philosophies, perspectives and practices whilst always returning to the sovereignty of authentic truth, intuition and experiential learning. Now, the Sitting with Death and Choosing Life Programme brings all of this together. It lights up my day every time I meet with a group and witness the expansion of consciousness that always happens. It thrills me to see those people who have chosen to join me as facilitators growing in confidence, motivation and love. It fills me with awe that the “right” people find their way to these courses. This programme is a gift from my heart and soul to yours.
